What sort of laws exists here?

It’s pretty much the same laws you’d expect. Murder, theft, etc. None of it will seem confusing.

Basically, the only real crime that is committed on Haven is some light B&E of luxury goods, and usually thieves realize that’s much safer, and often easier, to do in some other timeline.

Labor laws are a particular bone of contention between Commonwealth, which has strong labor laws and a strong history of unionization, and InterAct, which has almost no labor laws or worker protections. Right now, there are very little labor laws, but considering the strong ‘floor’ of the economy, where people can have their basic needs of housing and food met without any money at all, we don’t seem to have much a problem of abuses toward workers.

The legal process here is technically controlled entirely by a quasi-corporate bureaucracy, Project Zero. That means there is there is no jury trial. That is one thing that we, the provisional government, wish to change. You do have a right to a hearing in front of a three person panel (One person from each MTP), and an appointed defender, a right to present evidence, and testify or not, and compel witnesses. The process is generally fair, at least, we think so. But we’d rather have jury trials.

Depending on your timeline, you may find jail here more or less harsh than jails there, and the punishments are not particularly severe.

For crimes of violence, you can be ‘exiled’ for an amount of time to the Isolation Zone, which is Lower Harbor Key. There are currently 8 people living there, all for fairly serious repeated violent crime. No travel is allowed to there, although they are given access to monitored communication.

Note there are no laws here against behaviors in other timelines, except harming other residents of Haven while you’re out there. We do not care, or even have jurisdiction, out there, unless our people are harmed.

However, the MTP signatory of that timeline care does, and their TEA can arrest you. If so, you will be detained here on Haven, but you’re under their legal jurisdiction. Sometimes people wonder why TEAs detain people here, but they can hardly detain you in their timeline, you’d be erased.
