What can be brought in?
There are things you can’t bring here.
Automobiles are the most obvious, there are no roads designed for them and there is no gasoline. Also, it is a lot of work to bring them here, they are larger than most time machines allowed, and moving over a ton starts vastly increasing energy usage.
There are small electric carts, and bicycles. Electronic carts require an inspection to bring here, bicycles do not. Or you can buy one, they are not expensive.
Gasoline and other highly flammable or dangerous substances also aren’t allowed, outside of some defined need. We have yet to have a major fire and we don’t intend to start, especially considering we do not really have a fire department.
The trading of gold or silver or other precious metals for goods is illegal, simply because that has turned into a black market currency. You can bring in some jewelry you want, but if you try to bring in bars or possess suspicious amounts of jewelry, investigations could be started.
There is an ongoing constant debate about making certain harder drugs illegal, but none are. It would be extremely difficult to enforce that. Just like it is extremely hard to enforce the drinking age of 18 that we do have, because if you have access to a time machine, you can get alcohol, period. Prohibition is a particular good place, they’ll sell to anyone. All we can really say is that the half-dozen places that officially sell alcohol will not serve people known to be under 18.
And that brings us to a large issue, we have no customs inspection. It’s very hard for us to detect the movement of anything across our ‘borders’, as you can just arrive and leave as you want. Which makes it hard to enforce any of this.
